Leadership Development

Leadership is a core driver of community change.

It is our hope that through the support and development of community leaders we will see a safer, brighter New Zealand for future generations.

At For the Sake of Our Children we believe that  leadership begins with clarity about values.

A
clear understanding of the principles, standards or qualities upon which an individuals life and community are based is essential for providing direction and ensuring sound decision-making.

To this end we support two leadership development initiatives – the Aspiring Leaders Forum (ALF) and Community Leaders Retreat.

Aspiring Leaders Forum (ALF)

The Aspiring Leaders' Forum on faith and values attempts to bridge the growing divide between our nation's young people and its leaders.

Every year young people, parliamentary and civic leaders gather in Wellington to debate and discuss the ideas and philosophies of leadership with the goal of encouraging young people to be better leaders in whatever area of society they are engaged in.

At FSOCT we are committed to sending a group of talented and motivated young New Zealand leaders and young leaders from South Pacific nations to attend each forum.

If you know of a young person who
is aged between 18 and 26 and has compassion and a vision for their community and their nation - and you would like FTSOCT to nominate them, please contact us. If you would like to be nominated, or to nominate a young leader to attend the Forum please visit: www.aspiringleaders.org.nz

Community Leaders Retreat (CLR)

Every year the Trust hosts a series of retreat for
exceptional community leaders from all fields.

The purpose of the retreats are to thank and encourage leaders in the work they have achieved in their respective communities, to refresh and rejuvenate them, and to provide them the opportunity to network with other like-minded people.

If you would like to nominate a community leader to attend please contact our office for further information.
